A FATHER-of-three was caught with cannabis.
Police found two small bags of cannabis when they searched the home of Patrick Cronin in Usworth, Washington.
At Sunderland Magistrates’ Court, he pleaded guilty to possession of the class B drug.
Janice Bellamy, prosecuting, said the 26-year-old told police he paid £40 for the cannabis a few hours earlier and intended to smoke it.
She added that he been fined by the courts in October 2011 for producing cannabis and had an earlier conviction from 2007 for possessing the drug. Gavin Sword, defending, said Cronin, of Coach Road West, used cannabis as a recreational drug, but he had recently cut down his consumption.
Magistrates asked for a pre-sentence report but warned Cronin he could face jail.
