Hunt for satellite TV thieves

Have your say

DETECTIVES are hunting two men who stole satellite systems from a retail store.

The theft took place on Monday at about 2pm, when the pair went into B&Q in Armstrong Industrial Estate in Washington.

They picked up two Ross satellite systems before leaving without paying.

In-store alarms were set off as the men left, but they got into a black, old-style Nissan Micra, which was being driven by a woman, before making off.

The men are described as both being white, in their early 20s, tall, of average build with short dark hair.

One was wearing a dark T-shirt and the other was wearing a light top with the image of a woman on the front.

The woman driver is described as white, in her early 20s, with dark straight shoulder-length hair.

Officers believe the store was busy at the time and the theft was witnessed by numerous members of public.

Anyone who was in the store and saw what happened or has any information is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 ext 69191, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
