Gang axe attack horror

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an axe attack.

At about 10.15am on Thursday, the victim was approached by two men in Woodbine Street, Hendon, and threatened.

One of the men grabbed him by the throat, while the other damaged the man’s van with an axe. They then fled the area.

The first man is described as being white, about 5ft 6ins tall and in his 40s. He had stubble, one of his eyes was described as “slightly wonky” and he was wearing a blue woolly hat. The second is also white, about 6ft tall, in his 20s and of big build. He was wearing a dark hooded top with red piping, and was carrying the axe.

Neighbourhood Insp Jamie Southwell said: “I’d urge anyone who was in the area around Woodbine Street, in Hendon, on Thursday morning to contact us as soon as possible.”
