FOUR men have appeared in court charged with attempted kidnap.

Graeme Ian Adams, 35, of Sunnybrow, Paul Clark, 21, of Pembroke Avenue, Michael Paul Laing, 21, of Westgate Avenue, and John McGough, 50, Hill Street, all Sunderland, face the allegation.

They are said to have attempted to take or carry away David Slater against his will on December 7, during an incident at the New Seaham Service Station on Stockton Road, Seaham.

The men appeared before Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, for the first hearing in the case. No pleas were entered.

All four were released on unconditional bail until April 4, to appear at Durham Crown Court.
