Four men arrested after Mercedes carrying drugs and weapon caught travelling at 110mph

North Yorkshire Police has said it took the County Durham group into custody after they were travelling in a car containing drugs and a knife.
The vehicle sparked a stop by officers after passing one of its police safety camera vans at the high speed on Sunday, October 25.

Hide AdThe force has since confirmed the men were from Peterlee and Hartlepool as inquiries continue.
A spokesperson said: “The Mercedes was stopped by officers on the A64 near Tadcaster on Sunday afternoon.
“A search of the vehicle revealed a quantity of what is believed to be cannabis and a knife.
“Four men aged 19 to 38 from County Durham were arrested in connection with drug dealing offences, including the driver who was also arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
