POLICE are appealing for witnesses to two separate burglaries in Sunderland where unique items were stolen.

The first happened between 9am and 3.45pm on Monday, October 14, when a house at Meadow Close in Houghton was broken into and a Courtois Flugelhorn worth almost £2,000 in a black travel case was stolen, as well as jewellery.

The other happened between 5pm on Tuesday, October 15, and 7.30am on Wednesday, October 16, at a garage at Houghton Road at Hetton, when alloy wheels worth around £500 were stolen as well as a PA system, Black Star Amplifier and vintage Les Paul guitar.
