Ferret killed in arson attack on allotment

Police are appealing for information after a ferret was killed in an arson attack on an allotment.

It happened at around 9.45pm, on Friday, November 21, when an intruder entered an allotment at Hetton Lyons Country Park, Downs Pit Lane, Houghton, and set alight to two sheds before making off.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “Both were completely destroyed in the fire and a ferret inside one of the sheds was killed.”
