A TRIO of thugs who threw a man down a flight of stairs have been named as some of Britain’s most wanted criminals.
Detectives have spent the last six months trying to trace the criminals who left the man for dead after a night out in Durham city centre.
Crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers has now released CCTV images of those it is looking for as well as placing them on its Most Wanted website.
At about 1.30am on Friday, February 18, the victim was enjoying a night out with pals.
He had left the Loveshack nightclub and was walking down the steps at the back of the Walkergate complex with a friend when three men shouted at him. An argument broke out before one of the men threw the victim down the concrete steps.
They then ran off, leaving the victim unconscious.
He suffered serious facial injuries, along with other injuries to his body.
A Crimestoppers spokeswoman said: “The victim was out drinking in Durham with friends.
“He left the Loveshack nightclub in company with a friend and when walking down the steps at the rear of Walkergate complex, three males shouted at them and approached them from behind.
“One of the males became aggressive towards the victim and his friend and the males accused the victim and his friend of ‘starting on their mates’ earlier in the evening.
“One of the males had then asked for a cigarette. Following this, one of the males threw the victim down the concrete steps, resulting in him being unconscious at the bottom of the steps.”
One of the men was white, aged in his late teens to early 20s, of stocky build and was about 6ft 2in to 6ft 3in tall. He had receding short brown hair, was clean shaven and was wearing a grey and white camouflage-style hooded jacket with a light top underneath and grey/blue trousers.
The second was white and of about the same age. He was medium build, about 5ft 6in to 5ft 7in tall and had short dark hair, was clean shaven and was wearing a dark-coloured jacket with a blue top, dark trousers and dark shoes.
The third was also white and of the same age range. He was slim, about 5ft 4in to 5ft 5in tall, with short dark hair and was wearing a white shirt and dark trousers.
