TRAUMATISED prison officers have been given time off after dealing with the killing of an inmate.

Four members of staff at HMP Frankland in Durham have been granted leave to help them cope with the aftermatch of paedophile Mitchell Harrison’s killing in his cell last month.

The 23-year-old was serving an indefinite sentence for raping a 13-year-old girl. Officers tried to revive him, but they were unable to save his life.

Prisoners Michael Parr, 32, and Nathan Mann, 23, have been charged with murder.
