A DRINKER threw a punch at a doorman who chased him out of a city centre bar and into the road.
Liam Sharkey, 28, got in an argument in Bar 7, in Derwent Street, on April 18, Sunderland magistrates heard.
Prosecutor Paul Anderston said: “The defendant certainly wasn’t very happy at being put out of the bar. He threw a punch, there is no evidence it connects.”
Sharkey, of Palmerston Road, Pennywell, admitted threatening behaviour.
Joanne Gatens, defending, said: “It was essentially a storm in a teacup. He’s thrown out of the pub and they are shouting at each other. The doorman follows Mr Sharkey into the middle of the road. He goes to swing a punch but the punch doesn’t connect.”
Sharkey will be sentenced on April 29.
