Drunk and disorderly, having a blade and possessing heroin: The latest cases heard in court round-up

The following cases were heard at Sunderland and South Tyneside Magistrates’ Courts:

James Talman, 24, of Chester Road, Sunderland, was fined £162 after admitting having a blade in a public place. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 surcharge.

Brendon Crewe, 22, of Tunstall Vale, Sunderland, was jailed for 15 weeks, suspended for 12 months, after admitting two breaches of a community order.

Paul Gary Farrell, 40, of Thirlmere Court, Hebburn, was fined £416 for failing to provide a specimen. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £41 surcharge and was banned from driving for 24 months.

Robert Reay, 46, of Mailings Close, Hendon, Sunderland, was jailed for a total of 15 weeks. He admitted a charge of possession of heroin, two breaches of a suspended sentence order, three failing to surrender to court and one failing to surrender to custody. He was ordered to pay £145 costs, a £10 fine and a £122 surcharge.

Graeme McGeary, 27, of Roman Road, South Shields, admitted resisting a police officer and being drunk and disorderly. He was fined £162 and ordered to pay £310 costs and a £32 surcharge.

Michael Austin, 35, of Bayswater Avenue, Town End Farm, Sunderland, was given a 12-month community order for failing to provide a specimen. He was banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £90 surcharge.

Joanne Rebecca Dixon, 40, of Milburn Street, Millfield, Sunderland, was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £21 surcharge after pleading guilty to theft of clothing from Matalan in Pallion.

Jake McDonald, 20, of Laygate Place, South Shields, was given a 12-month conditional discharge after admitting being drunk and disorderly. He was told to pay £85 costs and a £21 surcharge.

Luke Matheson, 28, of Torquay Parade, Hebburn, was banned from driving for 20 months after admitting driving with excess alcohol. He was fined £253 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 surcharge.

Annie Mildred Pringle, 86, of Hipsburn Drive, Sunderland, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. She was fined £346 and banned from driving for 12 months. She was also told to pay £85 costs and a surcharge of £34.
