A WOMAN was given a warning for possession of cannabis after two pubs were visited by drugs dogs.

Seaham Neighbourhood Policing Team visited Top House in Murton as part of the operation, and gave the drinker the notice after a small amount of the drug was seized from a pool table pocket.

The visit, also by Police Community Support Officers, was followed by another to the Crow’s Nest pub in East Shore Village, Seaham, where no substances were found.

Sergeant Jim Peel said: “We will be conducting more operations in the run up to Christmas to provide reassurance to the public.”
