A DRUG addict has appeared in court after police found cannabis in his home while he was on a court-imposed drug treatment plan.
Christopher Winspear, 26, was arrested on December 13, at his home in Washington, on an unrelated matter, Sunderland magistrates heard.
Officers found three, self-seal bags with £10 worth of cannabis inside, and Winspear, of Manor View, Concord, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class B drug.
Philippa Wylie, defending, said, Winspear is subject to a drug rehabilitation requirement (DRR), which he is now complying with.
“He had a few blips at the back end of last year,” Ms Wylie said.
“This was committed when he had a problem with drugs and he was in the infancy of a DRR.”
He was given a one-year conditional discharge and told to pay £40 and a £15 victim surcharge.
