Drink driving, theft and threatening behaviour: Some of the latest cases heard in court round-up

The following cases were heard at South Tyneside and Sunderland Magistrates’ Courts:

Hannah Speight, 29, of Maidstone Terrace, Houghton, admitted driving with excess alcohol. She was fined £288 and banned from driving for 24 months. She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £90 surcharge.

George Tingley, 32, of Masefield Drive, South Shields, admitted four charges of failing to notify the Department of Work and Pensions of a change in circumstances and five charges of failing to notify South Tyneside Council of a change in circumstances. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay a £30 surcharge.

Kieran Calvert, 28, of Athol Road, Sunderland, was given a six-month conditional discharge after admitting a charge of threatening behaviour. He was ordered to pay a £21 surcharge.

Erica Rachael Purvis, 27, of Athol Road, Sunderland, was given a six-month conditional discharge for failing to comply with an Anti-Social Behaviour Order. She pleaded guilty and was given a £21 surcharge.

Stacey Taylor, 31, of Lincoln Road, South Shields, was fined £40 after admitting a charge of speeding. She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge and given three penalty points.

Lee Fairley, 30, of Redwood Grove, Sunderland, was jailed for 12 weeks after admitting breaching a restraining order. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a surcharge of £122.

Merrick Ainslie, 36, of Tunstall Village Green, Silksworth, Sunderland, was jailed for 21 days after admitting failing to surrender to court. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £115 surcharge.

Dale Anthony Johnson, 35, of Thorndale Road, Sunderland, was jailed for 26 weeks, suspended for 12 months, after admitting theft. He was ordered to pay £480 in compensation and a £115 surcharge.
