Police are treating the deaths of two men found inside a Sunderland house as ‘unexplained’.

Northumbria Police said the bodies of two men were discovered inside an address on Springwell Road.

Officers attended the address at 3pm on Thursday afternoon after receiving reports of concern for the wellbeing of two men inside the property.

The force said that the deaths are currently being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing.

A police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 3pm yesterday (Thursday) we received a report of concern for two males inside an address on Springwell Road, Sunderland.

“Emergency services attended and sadly found the bodies of two men inside. Their deaths are currently being treated as unexplained with enquiries ongoing.

“Their next of kin have been notified. Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website or by calling 101 quoting log 627 250221.”
