A MAN accused of using a stolen car, which was taken from a train station, will have his case heard at crown court.

Sunderland Magistrates’ Court heard that the black VW Passat was taken from a railway station last year.

It was recovered in Sunderland on January 14, and Anthony Schofield, 34, of the city’s Tatham Street, has been charged with using criminal property.

He was at Sunderland Magistrates’ Court facing the charge.

He did not enter a plea and the case was sent to Newcastle Crown Court, where it will be heard on June 16.

Schofield was released on bail.
