Court Round-up: Door damager and shirt thief dealt with in Hartlepool

The following cases have been dealt with at Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court.

Aaron Durkin, 22, of Glamis Walk, Hartlepool, was given a six-month conditional discharge after pleading guilty to assault and damaging a door, on May 8, and theft of two shirts worth £110 from JD Sports on July 14. He was also fined £80 and told to pay prosecution costs of £200, victim surcharge of £20, and criminal courts charge of £150.

Gavin Middleton, 27, of Newark Road, Hartlepool, was jailed for seven days after pleading guilty breaching a conditional discharge, assaulting a police officer and threatening behaviour on August 2. He was also told to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and criminal courts charge of £150.

Paul Atkinson – aka John Laughton and John Thornton, 36, of Cumbria Walk, Hartlepool, was found guilty after a trial, of using threatening words or behaviour on September 19. He was fined £440 and was told to pay a victim surcharge of £44 and costs of £325.

The following cases have been dealt with at Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court.

Eden Wormald, 21, of Dawlish Drive, Hartlepool, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm, on March 2. She was sentenced to a 12-month community order, with 28 days’ electronically-monitored curfew and 180 hours of unpaid work. She was also told to pay compensation of £150 and costs of £450.

Sean Atkinson, 38, of Cumbria Walk, Hartlepool, was found guilty after a trial, of using threatening words or behaviour on September 19. He was fined £440 and was told to pay a victim surcharge of £44 and costs of £325.

Wayne Iverson, 24, of Murray Street, Hartlepool, pleaded guilty to two counts of breaching a non-molestation order on August 10 and September 15 and breaching a conditional discharge. He was given a six-month community order with 10 days rehabilitation activity requirement. He was also told to pay a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £300, and a criminal courts charge of £180.
