Carrying a knife, attacking police and stealing four cans of lager: The latest cases heard in court round-up

Andrew Walter Goodman, 30, of Ellison Street, Jarrow, was given an absolute discharge after pleading guilty to being drunk and disorderly.

Daniel Sean Jordan Langley, 24, of Laygate, South Shields, was jailed for 26 weeks after admitting carrying a kitchen knife in a public place and breaching a supervision order. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £122.

Jamie George Davison, 27, of no fixed abode, Sunderland, was jailed for a total of 18 weeks. He pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order, racially aggravated assault and assaulting a police officer. He was ordered to pay £200 in compensation.

Wayne Alan Kilty, 37, of Stafford Street, Hendon, Sunderland, was given a 12-month conditional discharge after admitting theft of four cans of lager and failing to surrender to custody. He was ordered to pay £85 costs, a surcharge of £21 and £6 compensation.

Khayam Iftikhar, 37, of Vicarage Terrace, Sunderland, was fined £146 after admitting a charge of speeding. He was given three penalty points and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Anthony Michael Schofield, 40, of Deerness Road, Sunderland, was fined £40 after pleading guilty to threatening behaviour. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 surcharge.

Dale Smith, 53, of Argyle Square, Sunderland, admitted two charges of indecency. He was fined £66 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Trevor Williams, 23, of Melrose Crescent, Seaham, admitted driving without insurance and without a licence. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge. He was also given six penalty points.

Christopher Wayne Chapman, 31, of HMP Holme House, admitted a charge of threatening behaviour at Sunderland Royal Hospital. He was given a conditional discharge for 28 weeks and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £21 surcharge.

Katie Leigh Shone, 32, of Ryton Court, South Shields, pleaded guilty to stealing a wallet and coat. She was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 surcharge.

Thomas Smith, 60, of Stockley Road, Barmston, Washington, admitted breaching a restraining order and failing to comply with a sex offender order by not notifying the police of a charge of address. He was given a 12-month community order with 40 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £90 surcharge.
