Car park attack appeal

Have your say

CARS were damaged after a man was attacked by a gang in the car park of a supermarket.

A 20-year-old man was getting into his car, a Vauxhall Corsa, outside the Aldi store in Picktree Lane, Chester-le-Street, when it was attacked by a group of other men.

The car’s windows were damaged in the incident.

Police say as the man tried to drive off, he hit two other cars in the car park, damaging them.

Three men have been arrested and were released on bail while the police investigation continues.

Officers say they do not believe the attack, which happened at about 4.15pm on Wednesday, to have been random.

Detectives are appealing for any witnesses to whom they have not already spoken to get in touch.

They should ring police on 101 and asking for Durham CID.
