Bus window smashed by thugs on street

YOBS who smashed out a bus window as it headed through a village are being hunted by police.

The vandalism happened at about 7.30pm on Monday as the Go North East bus headed along St Ives Place in Murton.

Police say three youths are responsible for throwing objects at the window, causing £200 worth of damage.

No one was injured in the attack, although police say there were passengers on the bus when it happened.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward to help with enquiries.
