Officers rushed to Seventh Street, in Horden, after a tip off that a “group of youths” were attempting a break in at around 8.45pm on Monday, August 24.

A Peterlee Police statement said: “Although the suspects left the scene as officers arrived, a search of the address revealed a sizeable cannabis farm in the early stages of construction, along with around 25 plants.
