POLICE have issued a warning about bogus callers targeting Wearsiders.
Three men wearing high-visibility jackets called at a house at Baltimore Avenue, in Castletown, claiming to be from the council on Wednesday, at about 2.05pm.
The men, who had a white flat bed van, said they had come to remove the boiler and pipework from the house.
They told the man who lived at the property that the items would be replaced by a new system, but when he asked for identification, the men left empty-handed.
Police are now reminding residents to be vigilant to cold callers and to always ask for identification.
People should report any suspicious activity to police by calling 101.
