FIVE men arrested in connection with the death of Pc Keith Blakelock 27 years ago have been re-released on bail.
Mr Blakelock, originally from Sunderland, was murdered during the Broadwater Farm riots in Tottenham in October 1985.
Four men in their 40s and one in his 50s, were arrested after renewed appeals for information.
They answered bail at New Scotland Yard in London yesterday and were rebailed until September.
Mr Blakelock – a father-of-three whose widow Elizabeth Johnson lives in West Boldon – was murdered by a machete-wielding gang during clashes with police on the estate.
Three men were convicted of the killing in 1987, but cleared on appeal four years later.
