Bike theft in Boldon Colliery

POLICE are appealing for information after a bike was stolen from Boldon Colliery.

The theft happened between 3.15pm, on Friday, January 23 and 1pm, on Tuesday, January 27.

Offenders approached the bike, chained to railings on Newcastle Road, before removing the lock and stealing it.

It is described as a blue Cube Acid bike.

Anyone who witnessed the theft or who may know of the bike’s whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101, extension 69191, quoting log number 538 27/01/15 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police are targeting opportunist thieves as part of Operation Soundwave, the forcewide campaign cracking down on acquisitive crime.
