Banned from the Co-op and making too much noise - a round up of Sunderland court cases

The following cases from the Sunderland area have been dealt with recently at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court:

Winston Dodds, 48, of High Downs Square, Hetton, was fined £80 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after he admitted failing to comply with a community protection notice by causing noise nuisance and using foul language on August 19.

Terence David Walker, 55, of Westbury Street, Sunderland, received 10 penalty points on his driving licence, was fined £261 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting being in charge of a motor vehicle while over the legal alcohol limit on May 16.

Gemma McCabe, 32, of Dene Street, Pallion, Sunderland, was fined £40 and ordered to pay £150 compensation and a £34 victim surcharge after admitting two counts of committing common assault against women at Park Lane Metro Station on March 11.

Robert Wayne Rafferty, 32, of Hudson Road, Hendon, Sunderland, received an 18-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a £21 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting fraud by using a bank card without the owner’s permission on November 1 last year.

Tracie Ann McBurnie, 40, of The Royalty, Sunderland, was fined £140 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting using threatening or abusive words or behaviour, which the court found were used in a racially aggravated manner, on March 16.

Melissa Louise Urwin, 31, of Polmuir Road, Plains Farm, Sunderland, was fined £300, ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs and was also barred from entering the Co-op, in North Moor Road, as part of a 12-month restraining order after she admitted three counts of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour on three separate 2020 dates.

Ali Mohammed, 28, of Pardonhill, Sunderland, was fined £135 and ordered to pay £75 compensation, a £90 victim surcharge and £170 costs after admitting using threatening or abusive words or behaviour on December 9 and committing assault on December 16.
