Attack victim left with 'several injuries' after man gets out of car to launch roadside assault

A man was left with a number of injuries after he was attacked early in the morning as he walked along a coast road.

Durham Constabulary has appealed for help after the man assaulted on the B1287 North Road, next to Seaham Hall Beach Car Park.

A force spokesperson said: “It is believed to have happened at around 6am on Monday, July 27, when the victim was walking past Tonia’s Cafe.

“The man was approached by three people in a blue vehicle who pulled up beside him and spoke with him before driving off towards Ryhope.

"A ginger-haired man then got out of the car and assaulted the victim leaving him with several injuries.

“Police are now keen to trace the vehicle and its occupants.”
