Assaulting police officer and stealing clothes from Master Debonair among cases dealt with by magistrates - court round-up from Sunderland and South Tynside

Brandon Dodds, 22, of Cirencester Street, Sunderland, admitted keeping an unlicensed vehicle. He was fined £20 and ordered to pay back duty of £62.09.

Michael Lee Winship, 34 of Beach Road, Sunderland, was given a 12-month conditional discharge after pleading guilty to assaulting a police officer. He was ordered to pay £50 compensation.

Darren James Lockyer, 40, of Colridge Avenue, South Shields, pleaded guilty to possession of amphetamine. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £21 surcharge.

David Richardson, 29, of Hendon Valley Court, was jailed for 26 weeks after admitting entering as a trespasser and stealing clothes from Master Debonair in East Boldon. He was ordered to pay £765 in compensation, £85 costs and a £122 surcharge.

James Balderson, 29, of Thorn Square, Thorney Close, Sunderland, was sentenced to prison for 16 weeks, suspended for 12 months, after he pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen, driving whilst disqualified and without insurance. He was also found guilty of driving whilst disqualified, threatening behaviour and possession of cocaine. He was banned from driving for 23 months and ordered to pay a £122 surcharge.

Lyndsey Carr, 40, of Angus Square, Farringdon, Sunderland, was fined £350 after admitting driving with excess alcohol. She was banned from driving for 20 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £35 surcharge.

Gemma Louise Redman, 35, of Railway Terrace, Houghton, was given a 12-month conditional discharge after admitting possession of amphetamine. She was ordered to pay a £20 surcharge.

Lucy Bond, 32 of Wells Grove, South Shields, pleaded guilty to keeping an unlicensed car. She was fined £100 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £16.25 back duty.

Steven Sweeney, 28, of Witton Court, Washington, admitted insurance not meeting the requirements. He was fined £130 and ordered to pay £100 costs and a £30 surcharge.

Paul Lee Hepple, 41, of HMP Northumberland, was given a 12-month conditional discharge after admitting threatening behaviour at Sainsbury’s Fulwell. He was ordered to pay a £21 surcharge.

Colin James Cram, 42, of HMP Durham, was given a 12-week jail sentence after admitting two charges of theft from cars in Hebburn. He was ordered to pay £145.33 in compensation.

Marc Brunton, 28, of HMP Northumberland, admitted a charge of racially aggravated threatening behaviour in South Shields. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.
