Two people have been arrested after weapons and drugs were found in a raid on a quiet street.
Police found a number of weapons, including a stun gun, drugs and £1,000 cash after executing a search warrant on Thursday.
Two people - 55-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman - have been arrested in connection with the raid on the property in Wordsworth Avenue West, Houghton.
Northumbria Police worked with housing group Gentoo on the operation.
Houghton Neighbourhood Inspector Vicky Quinn said: "We have been working closely with Gentoo to take action around concerns of drugs in the area and earlier today enforced a warrant at an address in Wordsworth Avenue West where we found a quantity of drugs.
"Partnerhsip working is crucial in helping us tackle crime and disorder and we're grateful to Gentoo for their involvement. Tackling the concerns of our local communities is important to us and we will always do what we can to resolve these concerns and I hope our communities feel reassured that we are taking action in the area."
Michelle Meldrum, managing director at Gentoo Operations, said "At Gentoo, we are committed to working in partnership with the police and other agencies to ensure our tenants and their families feel safe and secure in their homes and wider community. We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour of this nature and will continue to work in partnership with others to ensure the City is a safe place to live."
