Arrests made at Sunderland house after reports of man with firearm

Police have made a number of arrests at a Sunderland address after reports of a man with a firearm inside the property.

On Tuesday, March 3, emergency services were called to Tower Street West, in Hendon, where a man was believed to be in the possession of a firearm.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “At about 2.45pm police received a report that a man was in possession of a firearm inside an address on Tower Street West in Sunderland.

“Emergency services attended the address and a number of people were arrested.

“Officers have not recovered a firearm at this time but there is not believed to be any wider risk to the community.”
