Arrests after Sunderland garden attack

A MAN needed hospital treatment after an attack in Houghton.

Police were called to Brick Garth, Easington Lane, at 1am today following reports someone had been assaulted in the rear garden of a house.

Officers attended and found a 26-year-old man with head injuries, he was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital where he received treatment and was then released from hospital.

A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and is currently helping police with their inquiries.

Two other men aged 24 and 26 years have been arrested on suspicion of affray and are also in custody.

It is believed all those involved are known to each other.
