ARMED police officers swooped on a house in Sunderland in search of a wanted man.
Officers carrying weapons including guns and stun guns targeted the address in St Luke’s Road, Pennywell earlier today.
They were sent at 12.45pm after being issued with an arrest warrant for a man.
He was not at the address and the search continues. Police would not confirm the man’s name or what he is wanted for.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “Officers attended the address to carry out a search warrant in relation to an arrest they are attempting to make.
“The man was not there and the search goes on.”
Police left the scene at around 1.25pm.
