Appeal after two hurt in assaults

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two attacks outside a pub.

Both happened outside Horners in Front Street, Chester-le-Street at about 1.20am on August 2.

A man in his early 20s was pushed to the ground before being kicked and punched by another man, who has since been arrested and bailed on suspicion of assault.

The victim walked away and police would like to speak to him to find out the extent of his injuries.

Seconds later, a second man, who is 27 and 6ft 7ins was assaulted by a group of men and women.

He was kicked and punched on to the ground and was knocked unconscious.
