A TEENAGER arrested in connection with offensive tweets about the MH17 Malaysian Airlines disaster will face no further action.
The 19-year-old from Sunderland had been arrested on suspicion of making a malicious communication after a number of messages were posted on social media.
He was being held after the messages appeared in the wake of Sunderland’s humiliating 0-8 defeat to Southampton on October 18.
The teenager was bailed until yesterday and now Northumbria Police have confirmed that he has been released without charge.
“Following an investigation the man arrested on suspicion of making a malicious communication and bailed will now face no further police action,” a police spokesman said.
