PEOPLE living in a Sunderland community were left without an emergency services phone line.
Residents who live in East Herrington suffered disruption to the line just before 7am yesterday.
The phone line was down for about an hour before it was restored by workers.
A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: “At 6.45am on Friday the East Herrington area in Sunderland suffered a disruption to the 999 service.
“The problem has now been rectified and the 999 service is now working as normal.”
