BUDDING broadcasters are being given a helping hand to launch a community radio station.
Ofcom is today inviting applications for more community radio stations across the region.
Community radio stations typically cover a small geographical area with a coverage radius of up to 5km and run on a not-for-profit basis.
Community stations that currently run include Spark FM, which is based at Sunderland university.
