OLYMPIC medallist Steve Cram challenged runners to beat the bull as he launched a fun run.
The Sunderland University chancellor came face to face with a bull when he launched the first 10km race around the Bull Crag Peninsula at Kielder Water and Forest Park, Northumberland.
The race is a new part of the sporting events in the Kielder Marathon weekend in October.
Already nearly 2,000 runners have signed up for the Salomon Kielder Marathon, and the 10km race and a Run-Bike-Run relay event are now open for entries.
Steve said: “Not everyone wants to run the full marathon distance but we know they are still looking for a challenge and a chance to be part of the weekend.”
