Court Round-Up: Six petty criminals dealt with in Sunderland

The following cases have been dealt with at Sunderland Magistrates' Court.

Calvin Parkinson, 26, of Ancona Street, Pallion, Sunderland, pleaded guilty to causing racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress, on November 18, 2015, and breach of a suspended sentence. He was given a 15-month community order, with a three-month electronically-monitored curfew between 9pm and midnight. He was also told to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and prosecution costs of £100.

Petru Bologa, 33, of Glodcoster Avenue, Bradford, pleaded guilty to an assault in Sunderland on July 26, 2015. He was sentenced to a conditional discharge for 12 months and was told to pay compensation of £75, a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £100.

Michael Pemberton, 32, of Yewtree Avenue, Sunderland, was found guilty, after a trial, of breaching a restraining order and of causing criminal damage of £100 to a window. He was sentenced to a 13-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and was told to pay compensation of £75 and costs of £100.

Sabrina Maddock, 25, of Tower Court, Easington Lane, pleaded guilty to stealing a black bag, valued at, £12 from Primark in The Bridges, Sunderland, on September 15, 2015. She was sentenced to a conditional discharge for 12 months and was told to pay a victim surcharge of £15.

Josh Creasy, 19, of Dundas Street, Sunderland, pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage to a custody cell at Southwick Police Station, on December 20, 2015. He was told to pay compensation of £60 and costs of £85.

Robert Beetham, 33, of Palm Road, West Cornforth, Ferryhill, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall on A690, Houghton Cut, on April 21, 2015, at 58mph in the 50 zone. He was fined £60 and was told to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £150. His driving licence will be endorsed with three penalty points.
