Cooker of Sunderland home damaged after food fire
Firefighters carried a tray of burning food from a kitchen after it caught light and filled a home with smoke.
Crews from Sunderland Central and North Moor Fire Stations were called to Wharncliffe Street, off Chester Road in Millfield, just before 5.15pm.
Officers carried the burning tray outside before helping to clear the house of smoke using fans.
The cooker of the single-storey cottage was left partly damaged by the blaze.
