Convicted Sunderland sex offender on the run

A convicted sex offender is on the run from police.

Darren John Kerr, also known as Darren Taylor, 48, is wanted for failing to notify the police of a new address.

Originally from Ford Estate in Sunderland, his last known address was Dickson Road, Blackpool, and Lancashire police believe he is still in the area and actively avoiding officers.

Kerr, who speaks with a North East accent and is described as white, six foot tall, slim with short brown hair and blue eyes was originally convicted of indecently assaulting three teenage boys in 2004.

DC 1451 Colin Gaskell from the West Dangerous and Sexual Offenders Unit said: “We believe that Kerr knows he is wanted by the police and is actively avoiding us.

“He has not been in touch with the officers who monitor him with a new as per his notification requirements.

“If you have seen him or know of his whereabouts please get in touch.”
