A COMMUNITY choir will make its first performance today.
It is made up of 85 young people from Thornley and Wheatley Hill, and was formed thanks to the East Durham Area Action Partnership (AAP) and support from Durham county councillor Brian Wilson’s neighbourhood budget.
For their first public performance, 45 members will sing at the partnership’s forum event, at Blackhall Community Centre, from 6pm to 8pm.
Shealagh Pearce, AAP co-ordinator, said: “We are proud to support this choir which is made up of members of the local community and we hope they go on to bigger and better things.”
Anyone living or working in East Durham can go along. To attend or for further details call Shealagh on 03000 262054.
