East Durham College’s Houghall Campus has held a graduation ceremony for its first group of newly-qualified veterinary nurses.

Rebecca Rickaby, 22, Sandra Ford, 37, Annabel Kerr, 20, and Stephanie Bennett, 21, all studied on the Level 3 Veterinary Nursing diploma.

The students were joined by staff and peers from courses at the Houghall Campus, as they were presented with their certificates by The World of James Heriot’s managing director Ian Ashton.

Kayleigh Watson, course manager, said: “This is a very important qualification which was introduced to the college’s curriculum offer four years ago and it now sees our first ever set of students become fully-qualified veterinary nurses.”
