Hetton School youngsters take part in the Fairtrade event.

The humanities department at Hetton School ran a Fairtrade coffee morning for teachers and members of the student council.

A number of Year 7 and Year 8 students were involved in baking lots of Fairtrade breakfast items such as banana muffins, raisin flapjacks and banana breakfast bars to serve to staff.

Dalton Park Starbucks donated Fairtrade tea, coffee and sugar for the event and students suggested the idea of serving breakfast to the staff to raise awareness of the theme ‘Sit down for breakfast, stand up for farmers’.
