New Cleadon WI met at 7pm in Cleadon Methodist Church on Monday, July 11, when a representative from Boldon Auction Gallery spoke and did some valuations. New members are always welcome.

Cleadon WI meets in All Saints’ parish hall tonight at 6.30pm. New members and visitors are welcome.

The Mothers’ Union of All Saints’ Church meets in the Chapter House at 2pm on Thursday.

The Thursday Club meets in The Old Schoolroom, next to the parish hall, on Thursday at 1.30pm. This is a group of retired people who enjoy socialising with talks, demonstrations, outings and theatre visits. New members are welcome.

The Lunch Club at All Saints’ parish hall is open on Friday, meeting for coffee and biscuits at 11am with a two-course lunch to follow at 12.30pm. Ring 519 0582 if you would like to go along.

Cleadon Village Drama Club is hosting the annual St Andrew’s Operatic Society Concert in Cleadon Methodist Church hall on Friday at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 and can be reserved by ringing 4470493.

The All Saints’ Gardening Group are taking an outing to Whalton Manor House on Monday, July 18, to see the gardens, originally designed by Gertrude Jekyll, and the summer house deigned by Edwin Lutyens.

Friends of Jazz are returning to give another concert in All Saints’ parish hall on Wednesday, August 3, at 7.30pm. Tickets at £5, which includes interval refreshments, are available by ringing 5363346.

All Saints’ Church is holding a Paddy’s Market on Saturday, August 27, from 10am to 2pm. Lots of bargains with clothes, jewellery, books etc as well as refreshments will be available.
