If you enjoy sequence dancing, make sure of your tickets for the January Jig, a sequence tea dance to be held tomorrow in All Saints’ parish hall from 1.30pm until 4pm. Tickets at £2, which includes afternoon tea, are available by ringing 0191 5363346.

The coffee pop-in, which is open each weekday from 10am until noon in the Old Schoolroom, next to the parish hall, will reopen after the holiday period today, Tuesday, January 5. You can pop in on your way somewhere, or after a walk, or arrange to meet friends for a catch-up. Everyone is welcome.

The PCC of All Saints’ Church will meet in the Chapter House at 7.30pm tomorrow.

On Saturday, the coffee morning in All Saints’ parish hall from 10.30am until noon will be in aid of the gardening team. The team members once again gained the “Outstanding” status from the RHS judges in August last year, and are already planning how to keep the gardens in perfect condition for this year. There will be a raffle as well as stalls at the coffee morning and everyone is welcome to go along, enjoy coffee and scones or biscuits, meet friends after the holidays and support the gardening team.

On Monday, January 11, New Cleadon WI members will meet in Cleadon Methodist Church hall at 7pm. The talk will be given by Gillian Patton on Quilts for Palestine, and the competition will be for a religious artefact. For social time, there will be a Christmas reject stall, which is always fun.

Next Tuesday, the soup and roll lunches will begin once more in All Saints’ parish hall. Opening at 11.45am until 1.15pm, there will be a choice of homemade soups, followed by tea or coffee with homemade cake. The cost is £3, and one extra benefit is good company with plenty to talk about. Come along and try it.

Cleadon WI meets in All Saints’ parish hall at 6-30pm on Tuesday, January 12th. New members are always welcome.

Cleadon Village Drama Club is presenting its first play for the year from January 18 until January 23. The play, Snake in the Grass by Alan Ayckbourn and directed by Liz Goodall, runs each evening at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 available from the business manager on 0191 4470493.

Slimming World now holds two classes in All Saints’ parish hall on Thursdays at 9.30am and 11.30am. If you are looking for support and guidance to lose those extra pounds, just go along.
