Today, at Cleadon Village Methodist Church there will be tea at 5pm followed by a Christingle service.
On Thursday, Christmas Eve, there will be a carol service for younger children at 4pm in All Saints’ Church and another for older children at 6pm. The First Communion of Christmas will begin at 11.30pm and on Friday, Christmas Day, there will be a Sung Eucharist service at 10am in All Saints Church and a Family Worship at 10am in Cleadon Methodist Church.
On Sunday, January 3, Oasis, the café church at All Saints’, will meet in the Old Schoolroom at 4pm when the theme will be “Wise Men Seeking Jesus”. All are welcome to come along. There will be tea and cake as well as discussion.
On Wednesday, January 6, a January Jig will take place. This Sequence Tea Dance begins at 1.30pm and the tickets which are £2 include afternoon tea. Tickets are available by ringing 5363346.
On Saturday, January 9, from 10.30am to noon, the coffee morning in All Saints’ parish hall will be in aid of the gardening team. There will be a bring-and-buy stall as well as a raffle with plenty of tea or coffee and scones and biscuits. Come along and enjoy the first get together of the new year and help to keep the church’s gardens in award-winning condition.
The coffee morning in Cleadon Methodist Church hall would normally have been on January 2, but this has been postponed until January 16.
Cleadon Village Drama Club’s next production will run from January 18 until January 23 at 7.30pm each evening in the Little Theatre in Boldon Lane. They will present Alan Ayckbourn’s Snake in the Grass, a creepy tale of murder, betrayal and family dysfunction, showing the author’s vivid study of abused women. Tickets are available by ringing the business manager on 4470493.
