On Saturday, the Macmillan Cancer Support Group will hold its monthly coffee morning in the community room on Front Street from 10am to noon. There will be gifts and craft items to buy, a raffle and good coffee or tea with biscuits. The venue is small but the warm welcome makes up for any inconvenience. Go along and try it and support a wonderful cause.
Also on Saturday, there will be a Christmas themed Messy Church in Cleadon Methodist Church from 3pm to 6pm. Activities are suitable for all ages and there will be a shared buffet tea. All are welcome.
All Saints’ Church will hold a carol service in the church on Sunday at 6pm, followed by mince pies and mulled wine.
On Monday, the Married Couples Group together with the Men’s Fellowship of All Saints’ Church will join for their Christmas party at 7.30pm.
On Wednesday, January 6, there will be a January Jig, a sequence tea dance in All Saints’ parish hall from 1.30pm to 4pm. Tickets at £2, which includes afternoon tea, are available by ringing 5363346.
Cleadon Village Drama Club’s latest production will be Alan Ayckbourn’s “Snake in the Grass”, which will run from Monday, January 18, until Saturday, January 23, at 7.30pm in the Little Theatre in Boldon Lane. Tickets at £6 are available from 4470493.
The Coffee Pop-in, which normally is open each weekday from 10am to noon in the Old Schoolroom, will be closed from tomorrow until January 4, to allow a different use of the premises. The Soup and roll facility is also taking a break over the festive season and will reopen on Tuesday, January 12.
