The coffee morning in Cleadon Methodist Church hall on Saturday from 10am to noon is in aid of Young Carers in South Tyneside. There will be a raffle, cake stall and plenty of tea or coffee with scones . All are asked to support this event.

Oasis, the cafe church held each month in the Old Schoolroom at All Saints’ Church, is open on Sunday at 4pm. Everyone is welcome, enjoy tea and cake and explore faith in a non-traditional way for all the family. This is an opportunity to wind down and prepare for the week ahead.

Next Tuesday, the soup and roll lunches, held weekly in All Saints’ parish hall, opens again after the summer holidays. The teams are all ready to serve their delicious homemade soup with a roll followed by tea or coffee with homemade cake, all for £3 Everyone is welcome to go in from noon to 1.15pm and enjoy lunch in an atmosphere of friendship.

Saturday, September 12, is this year’s Heritage Open Day. Historic buildings everywhere are open to the public to go along and enjoy or learn about. All Saints’ Church will be open from 10am, both for visitors to see and explore

the building and also for those who are taking part in the Northumbria Historic Churches Steeple Chase, visiting as many of the partaking churches as they can within the time limit. There will also be a coffee morning in the parish hall so your visit can be combined with a social chat with friends over coffee and scones or biscuits.

The Pastoral Care Network of All Saints’ Church and Cleadon Methodist Church are hosting an open evening in The Old Schoolroom, next to the parish hall, on Thursday, September 17th at 7-30pm. The speaker will be Brian Burnie, who founded the charity “Daft as a Brush”, which provides free transport to and from hospital for out-patients undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy treatment. The talk about the charity’s work is entitled “War Baby to Daft as a Brush”. All are welcome to come along.

T’ai Chi Qigong is a beginners’ calm movement class, which is held in All Saints’ parish hall on Wednesdays from 10.45am to 11.45am. The class aims to improve breathing, balance and energy. Just go along or phone 07891 419006 for more information.
