THESE dogs are wrapped up in the excitement of Christmas time.

These snaps are the latest to be sent in by festive families as they get their pets prepared for next week’s celebrations.

Twelve-year-old Lennon was dressed as a reindeer by his owner Paul Haustead, 38, of Maple Grove, in Whitburn.

Daisy, a Bichon, has taken on the role of an elf ready to help Santa, said her owner Lesley Smith, of Cricklewood Drive, in Penshaw.

Chloe Burgess sent in a picture of her dog Poochypoo, who will enjoy his first Christmas next week.

The photo of Maggie May, dressed here as Santa, and Bailey, who are both aged nine, were sent in by their owner Jo Rowe, 68, from Riverside Park, in South Hylton.

Jet and Marley are glowing at the thought of Christmas day after their owner Alison Murray, 52, of Thorney Close, who sent in this picture.

Bella the Westie, owned by Mollie Catcheside, of Hadleigh Road, Hylton Lane Estate, also pulled on a hat and festive socks as they got into the Christmas spirit.

Ten-week-old Wolf is also among those looking forward to their first Christmas.

His owner Michala McCluskey, 32, of Sacriston, said: “He doesn’t know what Santa’s going to bring him, but he is looking forward to having his first walk on Christmas Day, when the vet says he can go out.”

Stephanie Harwood, of Farrier Close, Fatfield, Washington, got in touch to send in this picture of pug Pugsley wearing a hat.

Readers can send in their own festive pet pictures and be in with a chance of winning a table for six for Sunday lunch at the Copthorne Hotel, in Newcastle, along with a £25 drinks voucher and a £100 shopping voucher to spend at Dalton Park in Murton.

Lunch can be taken on any Sunday up until March 31 next year, subject to availability. The vouchers for Dalton Park can be used any time during 2013.
