The members of a school choir have been hitting the right notes with recent performances.

One Voice, made up of children from Holley Park Academy in Washington, recently held their annual concert, with this year the theme of ‘Variety’ for the show.

And, they were also invited to sing at Alnwick Gardens.

Glenda Wood, business manager at the Oxclose school, said: “The children worked very hard practising for their special performances.”

She said the annual concert, attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Sunderland, Coun Barry Curran and his wife Carol, was a huge success.

She said: “A range of songs were performed and an enjoyable night was had by all.

“The school hall was full of supportive parents, grandparents, school governors, staff and other special visitors who gave very positive comments.”
