A TEAM of Chinese filmmakers visited Wearside as part of an international documentary project.

The delegation from Harbin, in the North East of the country, visited Sunderland for the Sister Cities Programme.

Led by Zheng Ming, a broadcaster for Harbin TV, the group, which also included journalist Qi Nilian, filmed at key locations across the city during their three-day visit and interviewed a range of local representatives.

Locations included Washington Old Hall, Stadium of Light, Sunderland Aquatic Centre, the University of Sunderland’s St Peter’s Campus, the National Glass Centre, Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens, as well as Rainton Bridge South and Doxford International business parks.

They also visited Herrington Country Park to film residents taking part in a bike ride as part of the Sunderland in 2012 programme.

The delegation will be filming in “sister cities”, which are twinned with Harbin, across Europe before returning home.

The film is expected to be shown on Harbin TV.
